A mixed-breed dog in Kuzbass survived after being shot multiple times by a police officer using his service weapon. The incident has sparked outrage, with witnesses claiming the dog showed no signs of aggression. The dog, named Vas’ka, had a history of suffering at the hands of humans.
The incident occurred when the officer allegedly took exception to a tunnel dug by Vas’ka near his fence. Witnesses say the officer fired his weapon six times at the animal.
The dog’s owners stated that Vas’ka’s only wrongdoing was digging a tunnel near the fence. A child, the dog’s owner, reportedly witnessed the shooting.
Vas’ka, who previously underwent jaw surgery due to past injuries, is unable to bite or bark. The dog only consumes ground food.
Veterinarians successfully removed a rubberized bullet from the dog’s side.
Prior to this incident, a cat was rescued from underneath a car’s fender liner in Novosibirsk.
