Passengers on St. Petersburg’s Green Line are experiencing disruptions due to malfunctioning train doors. The issue, reported on the evening of June 16th, affects several stations including Ploshchad Alexandra Nevskogo, Mayakovskaya, and Gostiny Dvor.
Commuters are being instructed to use only even-numbered doors for boarding and alighting. This restriction is causing congestion and slowing down train operations.
Eyewitness accounts describe overcrowded conditions and extended delays. One train, traveling towards Mayakovskaya, reportedly idled at Gostiny Dvor station for five minutes before stopping again in the tunnel.
A mechanic is currently working to repair a door malfunction at Mayakovskaya station, according to the St. Petersburg Metro press service. The repair aims to resolve the issue and restore normal service on the Green Line.
