A radio-electronic warfare (EW) system, intended to protect border areas in the Belgorod region, has been discovered for sale on a free classifieds website. This revelation was made by the region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, during a government meeting.

Gladkov expressed his surprise and outrage upon learning that the EW unit, which was previously transferred to local authorities, was being offered for sale. He recounted a visit to Mokraya Orlovka a few months prior, where he observed an “unopened EW system” despite the high frequency of shelling and drone attacks by Ukrainian forces. He noted the local administration had been evacuated, leaving residents vulnerable.

The governor has requested a report from the regional minister of digital development, Sergei Chetverikov. Chetverikov has been tasked with personally inspecting all EW units in the region to ascertain their status and location.

Gladkov also suggested the possibility that the advertisement was a deliberate attempt to sow discord and incite criticism against the regional authorities. The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the appearance of the EW system on the classifieds website.
