Great Dane Kennel in Samara Region: A Woman’s Lifelong Passion

In a quiet village in the Samara region of Russia, Maria Pushkareva has transformed her passion for Great Danes into a thriving kennel. She currently houses eight giant dogs and dedicates her life to breeding these gentle giants.

Pushkareva’s affection for large breeds started in her childhood and evolved into a full-time occupation. She initially owned a Boxer, then a Doberman, followed by her first Great Dane, which ultimately led to the establishment of her kennel.

To become a knowledgeable and responsible breeder, Maria sought guidance from professional dog handlers and judges. Now, she skillfully manages the entire breeding process, from selecting suitable breeding pairs to raising the puppies. The current canine residents of her home include Lis (Fox), Belka (Squirrel), Mysh (Mouse), Puma, Bars (Leopard), Rys (Lynx), Lori, and Dora.

Despite their intimidating size, these Great Danes are known for their friendly and affectionate nature. Some puppies are retained within the kennel, while others are sold for prices ranging from 80,000 to 120,000 rubles. Pushkareva emphasizes the importance of responsible ownership and conducts thorough interviews with potential buyers.

She stresses that owning a dog requires significant commitment, stating, “A dog needs to be treated, it needs to be trained. If a person is not ready to invest morally in the first place, then he does not need a dog. This is not a soft toy. This is a full-fledged, so to speak, member of the family, which requires resources: financial, moral, time.”
