A large fight broke out in the courtyard of a residential building in Novosibirsk on June 12th, triggered by concerns over a child’s safety. Police are investigating the incident that occurred on Stanislavsky Street, 48.

The conflict reportedly began when a neighbor expressed concern that a mother might drop her small child. Eyewitnesses say the mother appeared to be intoxicated and was struggling to hold the child.

Irina, a local resident who sustained injuries in the brawl, stated that the woman became aggressive after being advised to put the child in the stroller. Residents from surrounding buildings gathered to observe the scene, and some recorded the events.

Irina claims she was blamed for starting the conflict and accused of complaining about people smoking near the child. She further admitted to taking the child to protect it from the fight, alleging that the father was fighting while holding the child. The mother then allegedly attacked Irina, knocking her to the ground and scratching her face.

The building’s supervisor corroborated Irina’s account, noting that the couple was unfamiliar to the residents and appeared to be consuming alcohol on the playground prior to the incident.

The brawl lasted approximately an hour and a half, and police were called after attempts to de-escalate the situation failed.

Irina has filed a police report and is scheduled to undergo a forensic medical examination on June 16th.

The Novosibirsk region’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has confirmed that reports have been filed regarding the conflict and that an investigation is in progress to establish the circumstances surrounding the fight.
