A 44-year-old man was detained by National Guard officers in St. Petersburg after a shooting that left a 43-year-old man seriously injured. The incident occurred on Energetikov Avenue in the Krasnogvardeysky district.

Law enforcement received reports of a conflict involving weapons. Upon arrival, two private security teams found that the shooter had already fled the scene. The 43-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was admitted to intensive care in serious condition.

Eyewitnesses provided a description of the suspect to the National Guard. Officers apprehended the 44-year-old man while he was attempting to dismantle and dispose of the firearm by throwing its parts into the grass.

The suspect, who has a prior criminal record including convictions for theft and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, was taken to the police station for further investigation.
