A 19-year-old man fatally stabbed a 17-year-old girl before taking his own life on Beskudnikovsky Boulevard in northern Moscow. The incident occurred on the evening of May 31.

Authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the murder-suicide. The Investigative Committee is handling the case under the article pertaining to murder.

The conflict reportedly stemmed from jealousy. Sources indicate the young man may have seen his former girlfriend with another person, which precipitated the tragic events.

The Moscow prosecutor’s office is also involved in the investigation. There are no reports of any other victims.

This incident follows similar cases of violence, including the sentencing of a 20-year-old man in April for the murder of his former girlfriend in the Moscow region and a recent stabbing in the Irkutsk region.
