A 19-year-old man suffered severe burns after receiving an electric shock while jumping onto a freight train in Novoaltaysk. The incident occurred when the man jumped from a pedestrian bridge onto a stationary train carriage and came too close to the overhead contact wire.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs for Transport in the Siberian Federal District reported that the resulting electric arc caused the man to suffer significant burns.

The injured man was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This incident follows a recent tragedy in Krasnoyarsk where a two-year-old girl died from an electric shock while attempting to open a refrigerator.
