Russia Day, celebrated annually on June 12th, is a day for citizens to reflect on their nation’s history, symbols, and cultural heritage. A quiz has been launched to test the knowledge of citizens regarding Russia’s rich past and unique identity.
The quiz features 12 questions designed to assess familiarity with key events, historical figures, and cultural facts. Questions range from the Battle of Kulikovo to the cities of the Golden Ring, and also delve into the history of Russian art, the meaning of state symbols, and extraordinary facts about the country.
Participants will be tested on their understanding of significant historical milestones such as the year of the Battle of Kulikovo, the oldest city within the Golden Ring, and the inspiration behind the construction of St. Basil’s Cathedral.
The quiz also explores aspects of Russian culture such as the origin of assessing gold coins, the associates of Ivan the Terrible, and the dessert named after a world-famous Russian ballerina.
Furthermore, the quiz includes questions about the number of crowns on the coat of arms of modern Russia, the height of the smallest matryoshka doll in Russia, and the name of the chronicle known as “Tale of Bygone Years.”
Additionally, the test will challenge participants to name the leader of the USSR after Stalin’s death and identify the Russian breed of cats.
