A tree fell on a parked car in Novosibirsk on May 27th, and a separate incident involved a tree falling and injuring a child. The incident involving the car occurred on Dzerzhinsky Avenue, 71, where a poplar tree fell on a Renault Sander.

The Novosibirsk City Hall stated that the tree had undergone sanitary pruning prior to the incident. On May 28th, a strong wind caused a mature branch to break off and fall, resulting in minor damage to the vehicle.

The City Hall has indicated that compensation for the damage to the car will be determined in court. MUK “Dzerzhinka” employees have already removed the fallen branch.

In a separate incident, a tree fell on two nine-year-old boys at 21 Zorge Street. One of the children suffered a spinal fracture as a result.
