Customs officials have confiscated 7,750 items from the warehouse of electronics store PiterGSM in St. Petersburg. The seizure follows a raid that led to the store’s closure on Monday.
The confiscated goods, which include phones, computers, headphones, watches, game consoles, and Dyson hair dryers, were discovered during an inspection of the store’s warehouse, located near its main branch on 2nd Sovetskaya Street. Authorities also found a significant number of undocumented items in the store itself.
The inspection revealed that PiterGSM lacked the necessary documentation for the goods, including declarations and certificates of conformity. The prices of the equipment were also noticeably lower than the market rate.
The estimated value of the seized items is expected to exceed 100 million rubles. The final calculation of the total value is anticipated to take some time. At the end of the first day of the inspection, the amount of equipment seized in the warehouse and at the point of sale amounted to 6,000 units, and the total value exceeded 100 million rubles.
