Communal services in Novosibirsk are working around the clock to replace a heating main at the intersection of Nemirovich-Danchenko and Sibiryakov-Gvardeytsev streets due to its pre-emergency condition. The Siberian Generating Company (SGK) announced the measure via its Telegram channel.

The replacement is critical as the pipelines provide heat to 24 residential buildings and essential social facilities, including the Novosibirsk Regional Hospital and the Perinatal Center. The communications also support the operation of isolated heating circuits of HPP-2 and HPP-3.

The old heating network had become a concern after approximately 20 defects were identified over the past two heating seasons. Wear and corrosion accelerated due to the proximity to tram tracks, with vibration from rail transport and stray currents cited as the cause.

The work is being carried out in several stages, resulting in a narrowing of the road and subsequent traffic congestion. The communications are laid under the road surface.
