Artem Ishchenko has been remanded in custody until August 10 by the Kronshtadt District Court of St. Petersburg, accused of aiding terrorist activities. The press service of the courts of the Northern Capital reported the detention on June 11.
Ishchenko is accused of conducting reconnaissance of objects of the Leningrad Naval Base after receiving a task via the internet in February. He allegedly transmitted photos and text messages containing the results of his reconnaissance to an unnamed client through a messenger application.
The accused was detained on June 11 and formally charged. He pleaded guilty to the charges and did not object to being held in custody.
This follows a previous report on June 3 about the detention of another individual in St. Petersburg. That person was suspected of collecting data for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
