A section of Moscow’s Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line, from Oktyabrskaya to Novye Cheryomushki, is closed on May 31st and June 1st, as well as June 7th-8th, due to construction of a transfer to the future Akademicheskaya station on the Troitskaya line. Free KM buses are available for passengers during the closure.
The closures are in place to ensure traffic safety during the construction of the transfer to the new Troitskaya line, specifically at the Akademicheskaya station. The entire section is closed because trains need to turn around in reversing sidings. The new section of the Troitskaya line, from Novatorskaya to ZIL, is expected to open this year, featuring the transfer at Akademicheskaya.
The bus ride takes approximately 24 minutes, not including the time required to transfer from the metro at Oktyabrskaya and back to the metro at Novye Cheryomushki. Dedicated lanes have been organized along the bus route, with buses arriving every one to two minutes.
Passengers are being assisted by Department of Transport employees stationed near each station. Navigation signs have also been installed to guide commuters. KM buses stop near the entrances of the closed stations: Shabolovskaya, Leninsky Prospekt, Akademicheskaya, Profsoyuznaya, and the open station Novye Cheryomushki.
