The head of the Uralmash mixed martial arts club “Two-Headed Eagle,” Petr Kolesov, has been sentenced to 12 days in a special detention center. The Oktyabrsky District Court found him guilty of displaying Nazi symbols, specifically violating Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.
Kolesov’s detention, which became public on June 10, followed the discovery of numerous neo-Nazi tattoos on his body. These included a swastika on his chest and the word “skinhead” tattooed on his fingers.
Authorities are now planning an inspection of the “Two-Headed Eagle” sports club, formerly known as “Patriot,” which will be temporarily closed.
Further reports indicate that Kolesov had trained another neo-Nazi involved in an attack on two homeless individuals in Yekaterinburg in April, which resulted in one fatality.
In a separate incident in Yekaterinburg, individuals were jailed for drawing swastikas and issuing death threats. Last autumn, 15 students were expelled from a Ural college following a photograph in which they were posing with a swastika.
