Illegal Flower Warehouse Discovered and Shut Down in St. Petersburg

An illegal flower warehouse operating without proper permits has been shut down on Ligovsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg. The discovery was made during a raid conducted by the Committee for Control over Property of St. Petersburg (CCI) and specialists from the Center for Improving the Efficiency of State Property Use, according to a press release on Wednesday, June 11th.

The warehouse was discovered during a raid aimed at combating unauthorized trade. To conceal its operations, the owner had bricked up the main entrance and created a hidden entrance group.

Currently, authorities are taking steps to forcibly vacate the illegally occupied premises.

This illegal warehouse is connected to a larger issue of unauthorized street trading in the city center. Last week, authorities confiscated 1.5 million rubles worth of goods from illegal vendors on Nevsky Prospekt. The crackdown uncovered numerous illegal sales points, including vegetable and fruit stands, flower shops, and souvenir vendors.
