The number of individuals injured in the Kursk region due to UAV strikes on residential buildings has risen to 14. The attacks occurred overnight on May 31, targeting the town of Rylsk and the village of Artakovo in the Lgovsky district.
In Rylsk, two five-story buildings were struck, resulting in fires on the first and third floors respectively. The impact caused significant damage, including shattered windows and damaged facades on nearby houses. Residents were evacuated and offered temporary housing, though most opted to stay with relatives and friends.
In Artakovo, two buildings and a garage were set ablaze. A family of three, who were inside one of the buildings, sought medical attention independently.
Initially, seven injuries were reported in Rylsk and three in Lgov. However, the total number of injured climbed to fourteen following additional drone attacks in Rylsk and increased medical assistance requests in the Lgovsky district.
One of the morning attacks targeted the Yuzhnaya agricultural firm, sparking a fire. The blast also damaged a neighboring house, blowing out windows and doors and damaging the roof. Two people sustained minor injuries as a result.
Authorities have pledged to provide comprehensive support for the affected residents, including assistance with housing restoration. A house-by-house survey is planned to assess the extent of window damage, and measures are being taken to provide maximum support for housing repairs.
