Pink Moon Visually Delights Russia

A pink-colored moon captivated observers across Russian cities on the night of June 11th. This celestial event provided a stunning visual display for those who witnessed it.

The June full moon, often referred to as the “strawberry moon,” reaches its lowest point in the year during this period. This positioning causes the moon to appear particularly radiant, often exhibiting reddish or golden hues due to the refraction of light as it sits low on the horizon. This low position also creates an optical illusion, making the moon seem larger than usual.

For those in the Northern Hemisphere, this full moon is among the lowest they will see, while in the Southern Hemisphere, it appears exceptionally high in the sky. This specific lunar alignment is a relatively rare occurrence, with a similar low full moon not expected again until 2043, marking an 18-year gap.

The spectacle inspired awe and wonder among viewers.

In a related event from the previous year, multiple regions in Russia reported sightings of an unidentified glowing object. The object, described as a strange glowing ball, was captured on video and sparked speculation. Reports of this unusual aerial phenomenon came from various locations, including the Belgorod, Rostov, Voronezh, Tula, and Bryansk regions, the Stavropol Territory, as well as Moscow and St. Petersburg.
