Yekaterinburg residents recently witnessed a pink-colored moon. This phenomenon occurred during the June full moon, traditionally known as the Strawberry Moon.
The Strawberry Moon is often the lowest full moon of the year. Its reddish or golden hue is a result of light refraction and the moon’s position near the horizon.
The moon appears larger than normal due to its low position in the sky, which creates an optical illusion.
Despite appearing larger, the Moon’s actual size remains unchanged.
