A Kolpino resident, previously convicted of offenses against minors, is now facing additional charges of both corrupting minors and malicious disobedience. This individual was already serving a sentence with restrictions on his freedom, including wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet.
The St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) reported the 44-year-old man’s continued problematic behavior. Even after serving a five-year sentence and receiving 13 months of restricted freedom, he was quickly found to be in violation of his restrictions.
Specifically, he was cited for public intoxication in late May 2024, followed by an incident of hooliganism three months later. The penal inspection branch issued warnings and cautions, and submitted materials to the court, resulting in additional prohibitions, including a nighttime curfew and a ban on attending mass events.
On May 3rd, he violated the terms of his sentence again by taking an unauthorized night walk. This led to a case under Article 314 of the Criminal Code – “Malicious evasion by a person sentenced to restriction of freedom from serving the sentence.”
Furthermore, the Investigative Committee is investigating a separate case related to incidents that occurred between the hooliganism charge and the night walk. The man is accused of inviting boys to his residence, reigniting concerns about potential offenses against minors, for which he has previously served time. He was recently detained by detectives specializing in crimes against children.
