Novosibirsk Arbitration Court rejects MP “METRO MiR” claim against “SpetsTransStroy” regarding Sportivnaya metro station

The Novosibirsk Regional Arbitration Court has rejected a claim by MP “METRO MiR” against “SpetsTransStroy,” the former contractor for the “Sportivnaya” metro station. The decision was made on June 9, with the total amount of the claims exceeding 214 million rubles.

MP “METRO Mir” had filed a claim against LLC “Special and Transport Construction” seeking to recover 210 million rubles, along with 4.9 million rubles in interest for the use of other people’s money.

LLC “SpetsTransStroy” was established in 2009. At the end of 2024, the company reported revenue of 1.2 billion rubles and a net loss of 120.9 million rubles. The company previously served as the contractor for the construction of the “Sportivnaya” station.

The proceedings were temporarily suspended at the end of 2024 for a forensic examination and resumed in April of this year.

MP “METRO MiR” was formed in 1993, with the Department of Road Improvement Complex of the Mayor’s Office as its founder.

The court’s decision can be appealed within one month to the Seventh Arbitration Court of Appeal.

The Novosibirsk Mayor’s Office terminated its contract with “SpetsTransStroy” in the summer of 2024, citing repeated delays and increased advance payments due to the contractor’s failure to meet deadlines.

The total cost of the Sportivnaya station’s construction reached 4.6 billion rubles, with construction having begun in 2019.
