Early Pension Payments Scheduled in Russia Due to Russia Day Holiday

Russian pensioners will receive their payments early in June due to the Russia Day holiday, according to Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs.

The Social Fund will ensure that all payments, including pensions, are made in advance of the holiday weekend. Pensioners should expect to receive their funds by June 11th at the latest. This early payment is standard practice during holiday periods.

Normally, pension payments are processed between the 12th and 15th of each month.

Russia Day, celebrated on June 12th, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the RSFSR in 1990. The declaration established the priority of the Russian Constitution over Union laws and paved the way for subsequent reforms. The holiday was initially known as Independence Day but was officially renamed in June 1998.

Russians will have a long weekend in June, from June 12th to June 15th, combining the Russia Day holiday with the regular Saturday and Sunday weekends.
