Mostransavto CEO Discusses Transportation Issues in Moscow Region Cities

Mostransavto is actively addressing transportation challenges in several cities within the Moscow region, with adjustments being made based on passenger feedback and evolving needs. CEO Andrey Mayorov highlighted specific improvements and ongoing efforts in an interview.

In Zvenigorod, despite initial complaints, the addition of buses and extended operating hours synchronized with train schedules have alleviated transportation problems. Mayorov noted that improved discipline and flight execution have made Zvenigorod “no longer a sore spot.” Similarly, in Odintsovo, the addition of buses to route 22 by 30% has improved passenger satisfaction. A challenge remains in adding buses for late-night trains due to increased driver requirements and low passenger numbers on those routes.

Balashikha has seen the introduction of larger-capacity buses on routes to the Alexeyevskaya Roshcha residential complex to address overcrowding. Mayorov acknowledged that route 396A is particularly challenging with persistent morning queues and the company is actively seeking solutions to improve service. Changes for the first time in many years can be expected for that route.

In Vidnoye, route 33k (Zelenye Alley-2 residential complex – Zavidnoye microdistrict) has undergone improvements with the replacement of small-class buses with medium-sized ones. Adjustments are being made in coordination with the Leninsky district administration to ensure suitable turnaround platforms for the larger buses. Replacing the buses on route 33k is a big project that takes time. The company is also evaluating infrastructure to replace small-class buses on route 1020 (to the Tsaritsyno metro station), which it received last fall, with larger ones, aiming for implementation around the end of the summer.

While there are currently no plans to replace buses on route 1200k serving the Prigorod Lesnoye and Novoe Domodedovo residential complexes, Mostransavto prioritizes routes based on passenger traffic and payment rates. Routes in the Prigorod Lesnoye residential complex are under strict supervision, with 100 buses operating daily on route 367. A recent adjustment to the stop scheme to comply with traffic rules caused some confusion, but the issue is being addressed through communication with passengers.
