Saint Petersburg will host the XXVI Festival of Brass Bands and a Flower Festival at the Peter and Paul Fortress on June 12th. The brass band event, coinciding with Russia Day, will feature over 400 musicians and special performances.
The Festival of Brass Bands will take place on Sobornaya Square from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with free admission for all ages. Orchestras from Perm and Minsk will participate, alongside Bolshoi Theatre soloist Alexander Miminoshvili and Honored Artist of Russia Sergei Voitenko.
The program includes performances by top Russian military brass bands, a parade ground performance, and a defile show. The event will commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory with a medley of well-known songs and military marches, and the 185th anniversary of Tchaikovsky’s birth with performances of his compositions.
Complementing the brass band festival, the Peter and Paul Fortress will also host a Flower Festival on the same day. The flower parade is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a Flower Ball and florist show at 5:00 PM.
