Only Three Bodies of Water in Leningrad Region Meet Swimming Standards

Only three bodies of water in the Leningrad Region are currently deemed suitable for swimming, according to regional authorities. These locations are all situated in the Priozersky district.

Water samples were taken from 18 different bodies of water across the region, including both freshwater and marine environments. Testing was conducted to ensure the water met the necessary hygienic standards.

Alexey Lukyanchenko, a representative from the regional Rospotrebnadzor, announced on June 9 that Lake Otradnoye (Plodovoye village), Lake Ratnoye (Kuznechnoye village), and Lake Snetkovskoye in the village of Larionovo are the only locations that passed the water quality tests.

Lukyanchenko emphasized that the remaining bodies of water tested did not meet the required standards at this time. The department continues to monitor water quality across the region, regularly testing for sanitary-biological, virological, and parasitological indicators.
