CSKA Moscow has clinched the VTB United League championship for the 2024/2025 season, defeating Zenit St. Petersburg in the final series. The decisive Game 6, held on June 9 at Moscow’s Megasport Arena, saw CSKA secure a dominant 96-73 victory.
The win gave CSKA a 4-2 lead in the series.
Amath M’Baye, the French forward for CSKA, was named the game’s Most Valuable Player, contributing 19 points, six rebounds, and two assists. For Zenit, Trent Frazier led the scoring with 17 points, also adding five assists and three steals.
This championship marks CSKA’s 12th VTB United League title, setting a record for the tournament.
CSKA boasts an impressive history, including 29 Russian championships, 24 USSR championships, and eight Euroleague titles. Zenit has one VTB United League title to their name.
