In Yekaterinburg, the sale of alcohol will be prohibited in the city center on June 12, Russia Day, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This restriction coincides with the “We Praise Russia and the City in Chorus!” holiday event taking place in Historical Square.
The ban, signed by Mayor Alexey Orlov, will be enforced by police officers, among others.
The affected area includes streets within the boundaries of 8 Marta Street, Malysheva Street, Tolmacheva Street, Pervomayskaya Street, Gorky Street, Lenin Avenue, and Rabochaya Molodezhi Embankment.
A similar ban on alcohol sales was previously implemented during the “Movement” festival held this past weekend.
Another alcohol sales ban is scheduled for June 27 in the area of Mayakovsky Park, where the citywide graduation ceremony will be held.
