The Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD) in St. Petersburg will experience a series of closures over the next week due to road work and accident recovery. Motorists should be aware of these disruptions and plan their routes accordingly.
On the night of June 10, from 0:00 to 5:00, traffic may be temporarily halted on the exits from the WHSD to the Ring Road when traveling from the south towards Parashyutnaya Street and from north to south to Avtomobilnaya Street. These temporary closures, lasting up to one hour each, are necessary for the evacuation of an emergency truck.
In addition to the accident-related closures, scheduled work to modernize highway systems will cause further disruptions.
Specifically, from 11:00 PM on June 9 to 6:00 AM on June 10, and again from 11:00 PM on June 10 to 6:00 AM on June 11, the exit from the Vitebsk interchange towards the south will be closed.
The following closures are scheduled from 11:00 PM on June 11 to 6:00 AM on June 12: the exit from the Vitebsk interchange towards the north, and the exit to the Vitebsk interchange from the WHSD when traveling from north to south.
Further closures impacting the Vitebsk interchange are planned. From 11:00 PM on June 12 to 6:00 AM on June 13, and again from 11:00 PM on June 13 to 6:00 AM on June 14, the exit from the Vitebsk interchange towards the south will be closed.
From 11:00 PM on June 13 to 6:00 AM on June 14, the exit to the Vitebsk interchange from the WHSD towards Vitebsky Prospekt will be closed.
From 11:00 PM on June 14 to 6:00 AM on June 15, closures will affect the exit from the Vitebsk interchange towards the south, as well as the exit to the Vitebsk interchange from the WHSD towards Vitebsky Prospekt.
Finally, from 11:00 PM on June 15 to 6:00 AM on June 16, the exit from the Vitebsk interchange towards the north and the exit to the Vitebsk interchange from the WHSD towards Vitebsky Prospekt will be closed.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution in work zones and adhere to all temporary road signs.
