Authorities are investigating an incident in Barnaul where a 12-year-old girl was allegedly attacked and had her face cut by a 10-year-old boy. The incident occurred on September 11th at approximately 8:05 PM on a playground located at 41 Baltiyskaya Street.

The girl’s mother reported that her daughter was initially pushed and insulted by the boy and three of his friends. The situation escalated when the boy allegedly broke a bottle and used a shard of glass to slash the girl’s face, resulting in a cut on her chin that required stitches.

The mother claims that the boy’s mother does not acknowledge her son’s involvement. She is currently seeking witnesses to the event.

Police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The Altai Ministry of Internal Affairs has confirmed that all involved children have been identified and interviewed. Authorities also reported that none of the children have previous records with the juvenile affairs unit.

The Investigative Committee and the regional prosecutor’s office are also involved in the investigation to determine if there are grounds to pursue compensation for moral damages from the minor’s parents. This incident follows a recent report of a sixth-grader being injured at a school in Novosibirsk.
