Moscow Summer Festivals and Open-Air Concerts

Moscow is buzzing with summer activities, offering a wide array of festivals and open-air events for residents and visitors alike. From family-friendly celebrations for Children’s Day to thrilling drift championships and cultural experiences, the city has something for everyone this weekend.

Children’s Day will be widely celebrated across Moscow on June 1st, with numerous free events planned for families. These include concerts, master classes, performances, interactive shows, outdoor games, and creative programs at venues such as the Boulevard Ring, VDNKh, and various Moscow parks.

“Apothecary Garden” at Moscow State University will unveil new inclusive zones on June 1st, featuring a Sensory Garden and Sensory Beds where visitors can explore plants through touch and smell. Free lectures on herbs and gardening, along with master classes for all ages, will also be available. Entry requires a regular garden ticket.

The Gorky Film Studio is launching new summer film tours with creative master classes on June 1st. These programs provide a behind-the-scenes look at legendary film shoots, showcasing equipment and costumes from Soviet films.

The Moscow Raceway will host the RDS Open Drift Championship on May 31st and June 1st. This event will feature 38 drivers from Russia and Kazakhstan competing in smoky races and paired competitions.

“Luzhniki” Olympic Complex is hosting Football Day on June 1st, culminating in the Russian Football Cup final between CSKA and Rostov. A free festival preceding the match includes an autograph session with Artem Dzyuba and performances by popular artists.

The “Moscow – On the Wave. Fish Week” festival is underway, showcasing fish and seafood from Russian and neighboring countries’ producers. With over 30 venues, the festival offers food markets, culinary master classes, concerts, and shows, all with free admission.

The Hermitage Garden is opening its summer open-air season with “This Summer Festival” on May 31st and June 1st. The festival will feature musical performances, a cultural program, and food vendors.

The Ostafyevo Estate Museum will host the “O! Pushkin” art festival on June 1st, featuring performances, circus shows, classical concerts, and interactive activities based on Pushkin’s fairy tales.
