Summer Events and Festivals in St. Petersburg and Surrounding Areas

St. Petersburg and its surrounding areas are set to host a vibrant summer filled with numerous festivals and events, spanning various genres and interests. From music and art to historical reenactments and culinary experiences, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout June, July, and August.

June will kick off with the “Book Alleys” event, running until September 8th on Malaya Konyushennaya Street, offering a vast selection of literature and literary-themed activities. The Flower Festival will bring a colorful spectacle to the Peter and Paul Fortress from June 12th to 15th, featuring floral displays, performances, and international participation. Music lovers can look forward to the “Stereoleto” festival at Sevkabel Port on June 13th and 14th, showcasing a diverse lineup of bands and artists. The “Kupalo” cyber-folk music festival at Myaglovo Country Club from June 20th to 22nd will offer a unique blend of music, artisan crafts, and traditional games. “Kronstadt Sails” on June 21st at the Island of Forts will combine sports, music, gastronomy, and historical interactions. Concluding June’s events is the “Associations” theatrical fashion show at Tsarskoye Selo on June 29th, featuring designers from across Russia.

July’s festivities begin with the “Swing of White Night” jazz festival, taking place at the Jazz Philharmonic Hall and Mikhailovsky Castle Square from July 3rd to 6th, offering both indoor concerts and a free outdoor performance. “EtoEtno” (This is Ethno) at Sevkabel Port on July 4th and 5th will celebrate ethnic music with performances from around the world. The Odyssey Festival at Brusnitsyn Quarter on July 4th and 5th will offer electronic music, markets, performances, and various activities. Dostoevsky Day on July 5th will immerse participants in the world of the writer’s famous novel. VK Fest at the Park of the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg on July 5th and 6th will feature a wide array of popular musical acts and influencers. The Jazz Festival “Brodsky DRIVE” will take place at Fontanka House Garden from July 11th to 13th, featuring multiple jazz concerts. “Opera – For All,” offering free open-air opera performances, will be held at various locations from July 12th to 27th. “White Nights in Kupchino,” a family literary and music festival, will take place in the Park of Internationalists on July 12th and 13th. The Kåстры (Bonfires) music festival will be held in Karelia from July 17th to 21st. The Street Theater Festival “Yelagin Park” will take place at TsPKiO from July 18th to 20th. Ruskeala Symphony, a two-day festival in a rocky location, will be held at Ruskeala Park on July 18th and 19th. “Imperial Bouquet” will transform Pavlovsk into a floral and musical spectacle on July 19th and 20th. The Second International Jazz Festival will span multiple locations from July 21st to 27th, featuring renowned jazz musicians.

August’s events start with Fontanka SUP, a mass stand-up paddleboarding event on August 2nd. Picnic “Afisha” at TsPKiO on August 9th will feature a diverse music lineup. Medieval Days in Vyborg will transport visitors back in time from August 14th to 24th with knightly tournaments and historical battles. Leningrad Bridges will transform the city’s bridges into musical stages from August 22nd to 24th. The Oranienbaum Maritime Festival in Lomonosov on August 23rd and 24th will celebrate maritime culture with a regatta and concert. Pirate Harbor, a SUP event, will be held in Vyborg Bay on August 25th. The Musical Festival “Anton is Right Here” at Sevkabel Port on August 27th will be a charity event supporting autistic children and adults. Night of Light in Gatchina, featuring light installations, will take place at Gatchina Park from August 28th to 30th.

Concluding the summer festival season is the Kkinchev Fest, a heavy music festival at Marine Station Square on September 5th and 6th, featuring popular rock bands.
