A two-year-old boy was hospitalized with moderate injuries after being struck by a car in St. Petersburg on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred in the courtyard of a building on Nalichnaya Street in the Vasilieostrovsky district.

At approximately 3 p.m., the driver of a Lada Kalina reportedly failed to notice the child and ran him over.

The child is currently under observation in the intensive care unit. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the traffic accident.
