Arseniy Korovin, an eleventh-grader from Ekaterinburg school No. 200, achieved a perfect score of 100 on the Unified State Exam (USE) in history. He attributed his success to dedicated self-study, beginning his preparations at the start of the 11th grade.
Korovin believes that standard school lessons, especially in non-specialized schools, are insufficient for achieving top results on the USE. He emphasized the importance of consistent, daily effort, including spending two hours working through sample USE tests and utilizing online learning resources.
Expressing his passion for the subject, Korovin stated that he chose history because he loves it. His favorite historical period is the first half of the 20th century and was relieved that the exam questions aligned with the material he had studied. He highlighted the need to provide clear explanations of historical facts in the second part of the exam.
While acknowledging the specificity of the exam questions, Korovin stressed the importance of having a strong knowledge base and adhering to the evaluation criteria. He said that he had simply dreamed of passing the exam well and securing a government-funded place at university.
Looking ahead, Korovin awaits the results of his USE exams in Russian language and social studies. He intends to enroll in the history faculty at UrFU, preferring to stay in Ekaterinburg for his higher education.
Offering advice to future USE takers, Korovin recommended focusing on the 20th century, as it constituted a significant portion of the exam content. He also emphasized the importance of regular review and repetition of the material.
