A lavish dog wedding, costing over 100,000 rubles, recently took place in Samara, Russia, uniting Aurora, a bichon frize, and Ryzhik, a poodle, in canine matrimony. The event, attended by approximately 30 dogs and their owners, featured a red carpet, DJ, master of ceremonies, photographers, and videographers.

The five-year-old canine couple exchanged collars and paw prints on a “marriage contract” during the ceremony. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the dogs enjoyed meat cupcakes and non-alcoholic dog beer and champagne.

Preparations for the wedding spanned nearly a month and included invitations and special outfits for the canine couple. Aurora, the bride, started her wedding day with a spa treatment, including a “lapicure” and wedding hairstyle.

Aurora is a champion dog in several federations and countries and brings a dowry of two litters of puppies to the marriage. Ryzhik, the groom, has two daughters from a previous relationship. The dogs’ owners are friends, and while Aurora and Ryzhik do not go for walks together, they see each other frequently at the dog-friendly workplace.

The wedding was orchestrated to create a festive atmosphere and provide an opportunity for animal lovers to dress up their pets, according to Aurora’s owner. Ryzhik’s owner reportedly advised him to love and cherish his wife.
