St. Petersburg’s metro system is seeking a developer to create project documentation for a major overhaul of the Ploshchad Vosstaniya station’s Vestibule No. 2 and its inclined passage with escalators. The project, focusing on the exit leading to the train station, has an estimated cost of 87 million rubles.
The deadline for the project documentation is July 12, 2027. The primary objective is to conduct extensive repairs on Vestibule No. 2, encompassing the engine room, tension chamber, and station gate chamber.
The project includes the restoration of the operational characteristics of the inclined passage’s building structures, as well as the replacement of three outdated escalators. It’s noted that a portion of the project site is located within the territory of the Moscow Railway Station, a designated monument.
Plans are underway to close the second vestibule of the Ploshchad Vosstaniya-2 metro station, along with another station on the red line, Grazhdansky Prospekt, for major repairs. Both stations are included in the repair and reconstruction program scheduled to run until 2030.
