Moscow residents are bracing for heavy rains and thunderstorms expected to last until at least 9 PM. The Moscow Emergency Situations Ministry issued an emergency warning due to the anticipated severe weather conditions on Sunday, June 8.
Despite a daytime temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius, rescuers are cautioning residents about the unfavorable weather. The capital is expected to experience heavy rains, potentially accompanied by hail, and wind gusts reaching up to 17 meters per second.
The Emergency Situations Ministry advises drivers to reduce speed, increase following distance, avoid sudden maneuvers, and park away from trees. Pedestrians are urged to avoid billboards, unstable structures, and trees, and to keep children under close supervision.
The warning follows a weekend of hot weather, with areas in the Moscow region, including Mytishchi, Korolev, Pushkino and Schelkovo, experiencing hail and strong winds on Saturday, June 7.
