A large fire has erupted at a bitumen production unit in Opaliha, a village in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The incident involves a 200-cubic-meter unit and has led to a bitumen spill covering approximately 100 square meters.
Over 70 personnel and 26 pieces of equipment are currently deployed to combat the blaze. A fire train dispatched from Zeletsino station is also assisting in the firefighting efforts.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported thus far.
Rospotrebnadzor specialists are on-site, meticulously monitoring air quality in the adjacent residential areas, considering wind direction to assess potential impact. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
