A newborn girl’s body was discovered on the shore of a lake in the Krasnoyarsk Territory on June 6th. The body was wrapped in a towel and package.

Teenagers found the package at approximately 5:00 PM and alerted their parents, who then contacted law enforcement. The discovery was made after the package washed up against reeds.

The regional Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under Article 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which concerns the murder of a newborn child by the mother.

The child’s body has been sent for examination to determine whether the infant was stillborn or murdered. The identity of the mother remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
