Gardeners in the “Neftyanik” garden association near the village of Ayat are facing a significant problem as a family of wild boars has been roaming their plots for several days, destroying their crops. The animals have reportedly dug up entire harvests, including potatoes and other planted vegetables.
Residents have reported the boar invasion to emergency services and the Game Supervision Authority, but the animals remain in the gardens, showing no fear of dogs and raising concerns for the safety of children in the area.
One gardener, Irina, expressed her frustration, stating that they are unable to drive the boars away themselves, as the animals simply retreat into the forest before returning to the gardens.
Hunting expert Evgeny Surnin advises caution, urging people not to approach or provoke the wild animals. He suggests that the boars will eventually leave on their own when they see a person. Surnin also noted that such incidents are a positive sign of successful wildlife preservation efforts.
This incident follows a recent sighting of two moose in Yekaterinburg, where one moose died after falling from a bridge and another was safely relocated to the forest.
