Several Free Open-Air Festivals are Taking Place on the Central Streets of Moscow

Moscow is hosting a variety of free open-air festivals across the city’s central streets. The events offer diverse entertainment options for residents and visitors alike.

The city is experiencing warm weather, with meteorologists predicting variable cloudiness and temperatures reaching up to +29 degrees Celsius this weekend, and potentially even higher next week.

Several notable events are planned for the weekend.

Skazka Park is hosting an Ice Cream Festival on June 7th and 8th, featuring circus performances, children’s creative groups, discos with giant pillows and soap bubbles, and complimentary ice cream. A highlight will be a culinary show with chef-costumed artists performing tricks and holding competitions for young attendees.

Red Square is the venue for the Krasnaya Ploshchad Book Fair, coinciding with Pushkin’s birthday. Running from June 4th to 7th, the fair brings together over 400 publishers from across Russia. Visitors can explore tens of thousands of books, attend hundreds of events, meet authors, and enjoy concerts with the Kremlin as a backdrop.

Goncharovsky Park will host the “Dogs in the City” charity festival on June 7th, celebrating dogs and dog lovers. The program includes master classes in dog training, frisbee shows, lectures from veterinarians and zoopsychologists, contests, and a charity market.

Additional events include:

  • “Light Between Worlds” Exhibition: Showcasing Soviet, Uzbek, and Russian modernism from the 1920s–1930s at the New Jerusalem Museum.
  • “Straw” Festival: A multi-genre festival at the MosKino film park, featuring young musical groups, makeup artist lessons, and games.
  • Mel’nitsa Band Concert: Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the album “Pereval” at the Green Theater at VDNKh on June 7th and 8th.
  • Jazz in the Moscow Planetarium: A musical program against the backdrop of stars and comets on June 7th.
  • Pushkin’s Birthday Celebrations: Various cultural venues in Moscow will host events on June 6th, including free museum access, performances, and lectures.
