Russian Air Defense Systems Intercept 82 Ukrainian Drones

Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 82 Ukrainian drones over eight regions between 2:30 PM and midnight on June 6th. The Ministry of Defense reported that the UAVs were shot down over Bryansk, Belgorod, Kursk, Oryol, Tula, Ryazan, and Kaluga regions, as well as the Moscow region.

The Kursk region experienced some damage from falling debris. According to the acting governor, Alexander Khinshtein, the facade of a building, a water pipe, and an electric loader of LLC “Mushroom Rainbow” were damaged. Dry grass also caught fire near the city of Shchigry due to falling debris, but there were no casualties or injuries.

In the Tula region, the head of the region, Dmitry Milyaev, reported that air defense units were actively repelling an enemy attack, noting that the threat of UAV attacks remained. He did not report any casualties or damage. Pavel Malkov, the head of the Ryazan region, stated that UAVs were shot down by air defense and electronic warfare systems with no casualties. However, fragments of one drone fell on the roof of a private house, though causing no significant damage.

Following the Ministry of Defense’s report, temporary restrictions were imposed on civilian aircraft at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports in Moscow to ensure flight safety.
