Flower Festival to be held in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg will host its annual Flower Festival on June 12th, featuring a variety of floral displays and performances. This year’s festival moves to a new location: the Kronverkskaya Embankment in the Peter and Paul Fortress. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.

The festival program includes a Parade of Flowers and Orchestras, a Flower Ball, and a florists’ show. The festivities kick off at 12:00 PM.

The Parade of Flowers will showcase six themed platforms, each commemorating a significant historical event. These include the 80th anniversary of Victory and the 100th anniversary of the Zenit football club. The parade will feature models in floral costumes, street theater artists, and horse-drawn carriages, commencing at 12:00 PM.

The Flower Ball will take place in Sobornaya Square within the Peter and Paul Fortress. The symphony orchestra and soloists from the Mariinsky, Bolshoi, and Mikhailovsky Theaters will perform well-known musical pieces, starting at 5:00 PM.

The florists’ show will feature works by top florists from Russia, Turkmenistan, and China. These masters will compete in categories such as best bouquet, best flower costume, best flower umbrella, and best headdress. A professional jury and online viewers will judge the entries. The florist show will run concurrently with the Gala Concert, beginning at 5:00 PM.

An exhibition of floral art objects created by the participating florists will be on display in the Peter and Paul Fortress from June 12th to 15th. The exhibition will be open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, with admission closing at 8:30 PM.
