A woman died after falling onto the tracks at Chernyshevskaya station, causing a temporary shutdown of a section of the St. Petersburg Metro’s Red Line on Friday.

The incident, which occurred around 3:30 PM, halted train traffic between Ploschad Vosstaniya and Ploschad Lenina stations.

Service on Line 1 has since been restored.
