Pavel Tregub, the general director of a St. Petersburg club frequented by women, has been fined 200,000 rubles for promoting non-traditional sexual relationships. The Leninsky District Court found him administratively liable on May 30th following an investigation into advertisements for his establishment.
The advertisements, posted in the lounge bar’s online group, encouraged people to visit the club which caters to individuals of non-traditional sexual orientations. The page included details about the club’s location and operations. The account has since been made private.
An expert from Herzen University determined that the information within the group promoted non-traditional relationships.
Tregub stated that the materials in question had been removed and the group had been closed. Despite these actions, the court proceeded with imposing the fine.
