Moscow Announces Approved Swimming Locations for Summer 2024

Moscow’s Rospotrebnadzor has released its list of approved swimming locations for the summer, identifying seven bodies of water deemed safe for swimming. While many water bodies were tested, only a select few met the necessary sanitary standards.

The approved swimming locations include Beloe Lake, Chernoe Lake, Shkolnoe Lake, Troparevo recreation area, Meshcherskoe recreation area, Serebryany Bor-2, and Serebryany Bor-3. These locations have been confirmed as safe for swimming based on water and sand quality.

However, certain locations such as Levoberezhye beach, Dinamo beach, and Golovinskie ponds are approved only for sunbathing and other recreational activities near the water. Swimming is prohibited at these sites due to the water and sand failing to meet sanitary requirements. Visitors are welcome to sunbathe, picnic, and relax by the water, but entering the water is not allowed.

Two recreation areas, Bolshoy Gorodskoy Pond in Zelenograd and Putyaevsky Pond No. 1 in the Eastern Administrative District, remain closed for reconstruction. These locations will not be available for swimming until the reconstruction is completed.
