St. Petersburg is currently experiencing severe traffic congestion, with roads registering a score of 7, one point higher than the usual Friday level, according to Yandex.Traffic. The northeastern part of the city is facing the worst conditions.
The most significant bottleneck remains the roadwork area on the Ring Road (KAD). The outer ring is experiencing an almost 8-kilometer standstill from Ryabovskoye Highway to Murino, while the inner ring is jammed between Piskarevsky Prospekt and Ryabovskoye Highway.
Other areas experiencing heavy congestion include Shafirivsky Prospekt in both directions, towards the Ring Road and Piskarevsky, and Industrialny Prospekt, also in both directions. Piskarevsky Prospekt is heavily jammed from Metallistov Avenue to Rustaveli Street, with reports indicating an accident blocking two lanes.
Since midday, Glavnaya Street in Novoye Devyatkino has been paralyzed due to an incident where a truck struck wires near the intersection with Slavy Street, tearing out a traffic light and dropping it onto the road.
Traffic is also building up in the city center. Liteiny Prospekt, Nevsky Prospekt, and the streets near Vosstaniya Square are congested, along with both directions of Pirogovskaya and Vyborgskaya embankments. Furthermore, the WHSD is experiencing a growing traffic jam from Vasilievsky Island heading north, and Vyborgskoye Highway is congested among the exits from the city.
