Drone Attack on Capital City

Ukrainian UAVs attacked Russia on the night of June 6, causing damage and a fire in Engels. The attack also led to the temporary closure of Moscow airports.

In Engels, an apartment building was damaged, and a fire erupted at an industrial enterprise following the UAV strike. According to Governor Roman Busargin, preliminary reports indicate no casualties, and all relevant services are at the scene to manage the situation.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that multiple drones were shot down, with emergency services addressing the debris sites. Initially, six drones were reported downed, followed by an additional three.

Authorities are urging citizens to take specific actions if they spot a drone. The primary action is to immediately call 112. When reporting, individuals should provide their name, address of the drone sighting, a description of the drone (whether it’s hovering or flying, its silhouette, and the type of flashing light it has), and any sounds it’s making (buzzing, lawnmower, or moped-like sounds).

Citizens are also advised to leave the drone detection zone and warn others if possible. If a drone is found on the ground, people should not approach or touch it under any circumstances and should instead call 112 to report the find.
