The 12th Transbaikal International Film Festival commenced on June 5th in Chita, Russia, marking the beginning of a multi-day celebration of cinema. The festival officially opened with a traditional rhododendron path ceremony, welcoming guests and participants.
The event boasts a diverse lineup of films and a notable jury, with the full program running from June 4th to June 9th. Attendees include actors, directors, and film industry professionals from Russia and abroad.
Key figures present at the opening ceremony included the Governor of the Transbaikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, alongside his wife, Valentina. The hosts for the evening were actors Agata Mutsenietse and Georgy Peradze.
Alexander Mikhailov, the president of the film festival, attended with his wife, Oksana, and daughter, Miroslava. Viktor Shkulev, Chairman of the organizing committee and president of Shkulev Holding, and Mikhail Salkov, CEO of Bystrinsky GOK, were also in attendance.
Vladimir Khotinenko, Chairman of the jury, was accompanied by his wife, Tatyana Yakovleva. Jury members also include actress Daria Ekamasova and director Pushpendra Singh from India.
The festival has garnered support from major businesses operating in the Transbaikal region. Bystrinsky GOK serves as the general partner, with the Highland Gold group of companies also contributing as a partner.
