Filipp Kirkorov is experiencing a slower than expected recovery from burns sustained during a concert in St. Petersburg, with complications arising due to his diabetes. The singer’s representative, Ekaterina Uspenskaya, informed “Starhit” that Kirkorov’s elbow became inflamed following the burn incident, leading to further health issues.
During a performance at the Oktyabrsky Big Concert Hall, sparks from pyrotechnics ignited Kirkorov’s clothing and burned his skin. The artist informed the audience that he had “burned himself” during the show. He was subsequently hospitalized at the end of May.
Doctors diagnosed Kirkorov with a second-degree burn on his left elbow, inflammation of the articular bursa, partial skin necrosis, erysipelas, and enlarged lymph nodes. The medical team is proceeding cautiously and has not provided a definitive timeline for his recovery.
Rumors of ruptured implants were quickly dismissed by plastic surgeon Timur Khaydarov. He clarified that the singer has been hospitalized for two weeks and is receiving treatment for his burns and related complications.
Kirkorov’s health issues have also led to the cancellation of scheduled performances and events, including the “MUZ-TV Award. Legend” on June 7.
