A new bird aviary, featuring a variety of colorful bird species, has opened at the Novosibirsk Zoo named after Shilo. The aviary is located within the “Maly Khrusty” complex, near the amusement park, offering visitors a new attraction.
The aviary houses multicolored lorikeets, rose-breasted and ring-necked parrots, cockatiels, and California quails. The public can now view these birds during specific hours.

Novosibirsk residents have expressed positive reactions to the opening of the new aviary. Many noted their excitement and appreciation for the zoo’s continuous improvements.
The Novosibirsk Zoo transitioned to its summer schedule on June 2, extending its operating hours. The zoo is now open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, and until 11:00 PM on holidays.
Zoo director Andrei Shilo previously shared plans for future developments, including new complexes and a pavilion for pygmy hippos. The zoo aims to complete the “Asia” complex in 2025.
